"The opposite style of Left Coast, and not quite a Cornocopia, looking more like Peter Luger's inside, LVI Bistro is a tradional inn style bistro on the north shore of Long Island in picturesque Locust Valley.

Once an old Garage it was converted many years ago . It is a best kept secret for locals, and worth putting into your GPS for a nice lunch, dinner or brunch. There are a few routes, the one we took in was exceptionally pretty.. coming in from Oyster Bay.. through Mill Neck which is an exceptionally gorgeous part of Long Island. Think rambling estates, winding roads, small bridges over ponds with lily pads, and greenery everywhere.

Checking out the menu lots of things appealed to me...  but went simple. Ordered some basics like coffee, shrimp bisque, sliced steak with eggs and home fries, eggs benedict.. garnished with fresh fruit. Staff were clearly there a long while.. and gave some tips.

Food is tradtiional German / Continential. Sunday brunches, and even a german buffet night.

They had a few nice specials I will try when visiting again.. like a cold seafood platter for brunch with chilled shellfish (lobster, clams, oysters)..  Saw lots of traditional items on their white board for their bar menu.. think prime rib etc.. all looked good. The waitress was super friendly and introduced me to one of the ladies that just came in to manage the bar section. The two chefs, one an owner have been there many years with loyal fans.

Quaint, relaxing german pub like atrmosphere, tudor style exterior and interior,  doors open, you can sit outside at a few patio tables if in warm weather..  has a relaxing quiet vibe. friendly staff.

LVI is very welcoming."
