ABOUT The LVI Bistro

Marcel Kilbertus studied to be a chef in France at the Restaurant Roma Hotel School in Strausburg and when coming to New York in 1964  he worked his way up to head chef at the famous Luchows in Manhatten.  Marcel Kilbertus eventually left Luchows in 1977  to open his own restaurant in Locust Valley and has been there ever since.

Marcels recipes are featured in Luchows famous Recipe Book.  Marcel is very involved locally, hosting the Rotary Club, sponsoring food for the local American Legion and VFW, the Boys & Girls Club and hosting fund raisers such as the anual Toys for Tots where he donates the restaurants space and food.  Teaching Cooking Classes for Adult Education he is always keeping himself busy with the restaurant and giving back to the community .
